The ams range of standard Time-to-Digital Converters (TDCs) is suitable for use in most time measurement applications. These TDCs measure time intervals from zero to the millisecond range at a resolution of better than 10ps. These products are suitable for use in industrial, medical, automotive and scientific systems and equipment.
The TDC-GPX is our flagship component for high-end applications such as medical PET scanners, mass spectroscopy, laser range finder or automated test equipment.
The TDC-GPX2 is the most powerful member in our TDC family. Highest measurement performance and highest data throughput is achieved with LVDS stop inputs and LVDS serial output for each channel. Current saving operation is also possible with CMOS inputs and SPI readout. High configuration flexibility covers many applications. Applications range from gaming, portable handheld laser range equipment to ambitious time-of-flight of highest performance, such as in medical imaging applications. GPX2 operates without any locked loop technologies. All stop event measurement times are calibrated inside the GPX2 proportional to the applied reference clock. Combinations of best single-shot accuracy of 10ps with lowest pulse-to-pulse spacing 5ns and maximum data throughput rate 70 MBPS per stop input are possible.
